Chocolate is one of my weaknesses. So, a warm chocolate cake is always a delight. I took this recipe from allrecipes.com and modified it to diminish the calories by minimizing the amount of butter.
Here is the recipe:
- All purpose flour: 1 Cup
- Sugar: 1 Cup
- Unsweetened Coco powder: 1/2 Cup
- Baking Soda: 1 Teaspoon
- Baking Powder: 1 Teaspoon
- Eggs: 2 (I used flax seeds as egg substitute)
- Milk: 1 cup
- Butter: 1/4 Cup
- Cashew nuts in pieces: 1/4 Cup (optional)
Preheat oven to 180 Degree Celsius.
Mix flour, coco powder, baking soda, baking powder well. Powder the sugar and mix with butter and then add eggs. Mix the dry and wet ingredients and make a smooth paste while adding milk. The paste should be smooth and flowing, if it is not, add more milk. Grease a baking pan and transfer the paste in it. Sprinkle the cashew nuts over it.
Bake for 20 mins. Check with a knife, if it comes out clean that means cake is baked. Enjoy it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and enjoy the warm chocolate smell that fills your house.
